Commissary Coupon Policy and Quick Store Guide:
Quick Note: It is ok to share Commissary prices, so long as you are not sharing the prices listed from the Virtual Commissary on Commissaries.com – there are several websites (as shown below under Savings Resources that list the prices to the public).
- A Full Cup – Commissary Coupon Matchups
- We Use Coupons – Commissary Coupon Matchups
Be sure to keep your eye out for the tearpads located all throughout the commissary; some are exclusive military coupons, and some are manufacturer’s coupons. Also, never shop at the Commissary on payday. Why? That’s when the manufacturers raise their prices, so DeCA has to, also. Prices go back down to normal a few days after pay day
* Commissaries DO NOT double or triple coupons.
* Only one coupon can be used per item.
* Commissaries WILL accept Internet printed coupons and WILL accept BOGO Free internet printed coupons (but they will not accept an internet printed coupon for just (1) free item).
* The Commissary does accept CATALINA coupons so long the verbiage states “Redeemable at” or “Redeem at,” on top of other mfr. coupons. These are “coupons” that print alongside the register at off-post grocery and drugstores. Read more HERE.

Did you know they’re not printing the Kraft coupon for the cream cheese anymore? Went and tried to get the -5/5 off the website and it wouldn’t let me.
That stinks!! They must’ve reached their limit. All the people who printed theirs got lucky if they still have it!!! I have a few printed ones that I need to use still.
I can not thank you enough for doing this for us commissary shoppers. Since I live 30 minutes from my commissary, this list helps me plan my bi-monthly grocery shopping. Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!
Hi Meghan!! You are very welcome!! It’s crazy how many deals we can get at the commissary isn’t it? It’s so hard for me to shop even at Walmart because I know I can get an even better deal!! My head spins because of all the great prices our commissary has after coupons!!!
Michelle, where do you pick up the commissary magazine? All I find at my commissary entrance are the maxi savers and random sheets of glade coupons. Is the commissary your main store? I am just now getting started in couponing and know I have a lot to learn. Is there a certain day of the week it’s better to shop? Thanks Michelle!
Hey Meghan – I talked to a lady at Family Media and she said that there is a door person up front who hands out the Family Media Magazines each month on the 15th or so. The extra ones get placed on the counter/table up front. I don’t know if all commissaries put the extra ones out on display or not…For the December issue, it should have been handed out on November 15th, and for the January issue, you should see that on December 15th, so on and so forth. For some reason I didn’t see my December issue on the 15th of this month, so I take it they are late with it…….argghhh
Hi! I have a quick question. Can you tell me about Overage at the Commissary. I went today and they informed me that I could not use the Gas X coupon b/c it was valued at more then the item. Hense No overage allowed. This is the 1st I have heard of it. In fact they wouldnt even change the coupon to the amt of item, flat out said couldnt use it. Of coarse I got a manager and he Ok’d it. However im looking through the policy and dont see anything on Overage. Am I missing it? Thanks!
Hey Rachel I sent you an email, hope you get it!!
Hi Michelle I was wondering if you could help me find 4 coupons that have an overage? Kleenex, Reach Dental Floss, Gas X and Cream of Wheat. If you need to email you can send it to jugglingjpegs@gmail.com
Thank you a ton
Hi Michelle,
Thanks again!
I did! Thank you so much. I printed it out and brought it with me! Cashier was a bit shocked I had the policy….
could I get a copy of that email as well as I have had the same problem recently! Thanks! Also, curious what part of the country you live in because the coupons from my paper in Northern VA seldom are as good as the ones you list. Just curious. Thanks for all you do!
The coupon policy starts on pg 40-41 of the DeCA Cashier Training Manual http://www.commissaries.com/inside_deca/publications/directives/DeCAD40_6_JN2007.pdf
It’s about 10 or so pages and def. worth printing!! And here is their Facebook response to the Walgreens Register Rewards and other stores MANUFACTURER coupons: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=107874215934544
Hope that helps
Thanks for posting this. I haven’t had problems so far, but there’s always the fear that I will. Now with policy in hand, I will be ready!
Special K snack bars dropped last week at Keesler Commissary. This makes a good deal with the coupons on the Kelloggs website for $1/2, $2/3, and $3/5. Not sure how long they’re discounted for.
Can I get a copy of that email as well? It’s always nice to have backup if ever I have an issue. Thanks in advance!!!
HI. I thought the commisaries accept expired coupons-if they do-please contact me with where I might send them. I am on Facebook as well and have a bunch. Hate to just toss them out when they might get used and help out. ~Thanks!
Hi Melody! Thanks so much for asking!! I did a post about where to send expired coupons to military and family members overseas here: http://www.militarywivessaving.com/2011/05/send-your-expired-coupons-to-military-families-overseas/ so check it out!!! =D
Can you use a military coupon and manufacture coupon on the same item in the commissaries? I’m pretty new to all this so I’m still learning. Thanks
No you’re not allowed anymore, you used to be able to, but they are no longer allowing “doubling” even tho technically you aren’t so its strictly “1 coupon per item”
Thanks
Hi,
I was wondering the best time of day or the best day of the week to shop at the commissary. I’m new to this and everytime i go it’s always really crowded, just wondering if there was a best time to shop since i’m using coupons
Thanks
Hi Kayla! Never, ever, shop on paydays. I would suggest (if you can) to go when they open
Or …. shop at 2pm-3pm after the lunch crowd, but before people get off work
And, perhaps before they close, even. That’s when meat gets marked down
HTH!!!!
Some of the employees that work in the Bolling Commissary, but who are not authorized to shop in the commissary, have been shopping there. If you check the security cameras over a period of time, you will be able to see who has been committing unauthorized shopping.
Wow that’s not good. Have you contacted the store manager or store director?
PS: I’m not affiliated with the Commissary. I just post deals
Bolling Air Force Base Commissary-Employees and contractors without military shopping privileges are shopping in the commissary. They are using self checkout, going to cashiers who let them slide, and getting employees with privileges to buy items for their use.
The management is a part of the problem. What needs to be done is to start scanning all IDs. That way purchases can be tracked. Any violators should be written up. After the third write up, the employee should be fired. Also security needs to be in each store. The managers have video feeds but they violate policies too by shopping and getting military employees to buy the groceries. Also see violations with unauthorized employee or contractor shopping and don’t say anything.
is this website still active
