Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter, your choice of crunchy or smooth
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/4 cup flour
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl beat butter and peanut butter with mixer for 30 seconds or so. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. Then add egg, vanilla and flour gradually. Cover and chill in fridge, until dough is easier to handle.
- Roll dough into 1 inch sized balls, then cover in granulated sugar (in a small bowl). Place about 2 inches apart on your favorite cookie sheet.
- Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until lightly brown. Let cool on a rack and serve when cool.

THANK YOU! I needed a peanut butter cookie recipe. This one sounds like my Grandmothers. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christ,as.
I haven’t had peanut butter cookies for a long time. They’re one of my favorites. Thanks for the recipe!
i love peanut butter cookies. thanks for the recipe!
there not better in the world than fresh baked cookies
This is almost the same as the delicious ones my mom used to make. We baked them every year just for Christmas time. I think of her when I make them now. The kids use to like to do the crisscross with the forks on top and we always colored our sugar green and red and sprinkled it on top of the cookies. They never lasted long : )
My daughter (12) and I make cookies all the time. I hadn’t thought about peanut butter cookies in forever. I am glad to find a recipe so easy to follow and handy. They sound very good! Thank you, for posting.
This sounds awesome! Can’t wait to try, thanks!
these cookies look great yummy.
These cookies look very tasty. We use to make them all the time years ago. We will have to make up a batch this week. My Grandchildren love peanut butter so I don’t think they will last very long.
