The Kangaroo Express “Salute Our Troops” fundraising campaign raised $2.5 million, a record breaking donation for each of its beneficiary organizations, including the USO, the USO of North Carolina, Wounded Warrior Project and the N.C. National Guard Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund.
All military families are invited to the “Salute Our Troops” Grand Finale Celebration at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, TODAY, September 15th, starting at 1 p.m. for an afternoon of fun, games, exciting shows and free food and giveaways. The event is free to all military families and includes:
- Exciting military show emceed by the “Voice of the Blue Devils” Bob Harris including sky divers, rapellers and more
- Musical entertainment by Jamie Buckley and Southern Fried
- Autograph signing by former NFL and current Hurricanes players
- Mini boot camp for kids
- Free hot dogs and refreshments
- First 25 kids receive a miniature replica 1952 CJ-3 Willys Jeep, just like the one that traveled more than 10,000 miles this summer raising awareness for the campaign and collecting video salutes from customers
- First 50 attendees receive a Salute Our Troops canvas bag filled with more than $50 worth of merchandise
